Benefits and Drawbacks of Living in a Rural Area and an Urban Area
Life in rural and urban areas is different in many ways. Generally, people who are engaged in farming directly and indirectly live in rural areas. They are mostly illiterate. On the other hand, urban people mostly belong to service holders, industrialists, many other professions Rural life enjoys green trees, plants and meadows. Various kinds of fresh vegetables, fruits, fishes, milk, meat, etc. are available there all the year round. Besides, rural people are very co-operative and have a strong fellow feeling. However, it lacks good communication system, medicare and educational institutions. The advantages of living in urban areas are many. The urban people have well-lighted streets and roads. They have transports and houses with modern facilities and modern hospitals. They can get an education at the best schools, colleges and universities. But urban life lacks fellow feeling. Polluted atmosphere often tells upon the health and shortens a man’s life. I always prefer rural area to live in. Because, urban life is more or less artificial, instead, living in rural areas means living in the midst of nature.

গ্রামীণ ও শহুরে জীবন বিভিন্ন দিক থেকে আলাদা। সাধারণত, কৃষিকাজের সাথে প্রত্যক্ষ বা পরোক্ষভাবে জড়িতরাই গ্রামে বসবাস করে। তারা বেশিরভাগই নিরক্ষর অপর পক্ষে, শহুরে লোকেরা বেশিরভাগই চাকরিজীবী, শিল্পপতি, অন্যান্য অনেক পেশার। গ্রামীণ জীবন সবুজ গাছ-পালা, শস্য ও ক্ষেত-খামারের উপভোগ্য। বিভিন্ন ধরনের সতেজ তরি-তরকারী, ফলমূল, মাছ, দুধ, মাংস ইত্যাদি সারাবছরই সহজলভ্য । এছাড়া, গ্রামের মানুষজন খুবই সহযোগিতা ও প্রগাঢ় সহানুভূতি পরায়ণ। যাহোক, এতে ভালো যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা, স্বাস্থ্যব্যবস্থা ও শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের অভাব বিদ্যমান। শহুরে এলাকায় বসবাসের সুবিধা অনেক। শহুরে লোকদের আলোয় ঝলমলে রাস্তাঘাট আছে। তাদের আধুনিক সুবিধা সমেত যাতায়াত ব্যবস্থা, বাড়িঘর এবং আধুনিক হাসপাতাল রয়েছে। তারা সর্বোত্তম স্কুল, কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষা নিতে পারে। কিন্তু শহুরে জীবনে সহানুভূতির অভাব রয়েছে। দূষিত পরিবেশ প্রায়ই স্বাস্থ্যের ক্ষতি সাধন করে এবং মানুষের আয়ু কমিয়ে দেয়। আমি সবসময় বসবাসের জন্য গ্রামীণ জীবন পছন্দ করি। কারণ, শহুরে জীবন কম-বৈশি কৃত্রিম, অন্যদিকে গ্রামীণ এলাকায় বসবাসের মানে হলো প্রকৃতির মাঝে বসবাস
