A kitchen garden is a garden or part of a garden in which vegetables, herbs and fruits are grown. I have a kitchen garden of my own which is located at the back of our house. It is my hobby to work in this garden every morning and evening at least for half an hour. In fact, I remain busy working in my garden particularly in the evening when I water the vegetable plants, weed out the shrubs and pluck out some vegetables. I enjoy spending my leisure time in my kitchen garden. I do cultivate various types of vegetables in it. Of them, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, lady’s finger, eggplants, etc. are worth mentioning. It gives me immense pleasure and working in it helps me keep physically fit. Sometimes, I can sell some of the vegetables produced and thus earn some money. So the kitchen garden adds to our family income. We need not buy any vegetables from the market. We eat fresh vegetables. Moreover, we earn money by selling some of the fruits grown therein. There is a sharp difference between the vegetables grown in my kitchen garden and those purchased from the market. The vegetables purchased from the market are never so fresh as those of my garden.
