Many events happened in my life long ago. I have forgotten some events. But I translucently remember some. They will remain fresh in my memory. My first day at school is one such event.
I was six years old when I was first admitted to the school. My father taught me seriously at home. My elder brother was then reading in the local school. It was decided that I should go to that school with him. I became a bit nervous at first. It was a new and unknown world to me. I did not know how the students would receive me. I had fear about the teachers. But my elder brother and parents encouraged me. They said that I would get playmates of my age at school. The teachers also were affectionate and sincere. Hearing this, I got over my fear and nervousness. One fine morning my father took me to the school. The school building was very big. I entered the school premises with my father. I saw many boy. Some of them were my age. The Headmaster knew my father. He received me affectionately. He asked my name and what books I had read at home. Then I found myself fit for class III.
I was then admitted to class III. A bearer took me to class III room. There were many boys of my age there. The class teacher asked my name. He affectionately asked me some questions. Fortunately, I answered these correctly. There were two more periods of work before the tiffin period. In the meantime, I had talks with a few boys. They received me gladly. During the tiffin period, I played with the boys. Then I began to love my schoolmates. The school broke up at 2.00 p.m. The boys were going out of the school with a hue and cry. It was a new experience for me. I also accompanied them. My father was waiting for me anxiously. He took me home. On our way home I told him about my good impression. He was glad to hear that.
However, my first day at school was an important and memorable day to me. It was the beginning of my new life. I still remember that day with heavenly pleasure.
