Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a protective garment or equipment designed to protect the wearer from any kind of infection or injury. Generally, healthcare personnel, firefighters, soldiers, or technicians wear PPE for their protection from a potential threat of infection or injuries. Sometimes, patients of any infectious disease are made to wear PPE to contain the infection inside. PPE might include safety helmets or head coverings, gloves, eye protection, ventilating or surgical masks, high-visibility clothing or one-time-use wearable fabric, and safety footwear. It may also include RPE or respiratory protective equipment. Making the workplace safe for the personnel is one of the main reasons of using PPE. For example, during the recent COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare workers are in great risk of having the infection from the patients they are serving. To avoid a potential contagion, personal protective equipment may play a vital role. In many countries, the medical professionals initially did not receive proper PPE for their protection, and several hundred doctors and nurses reportedly died after contacting the virus while serving the patients. During the corona virus pandemic, medical professionals are the real heroes who should be given respect to the highest to order. They are the frontliners in the war against the deadly virus. If they stop serving the patients even for a day, the entire healthcare system will collapse. The entire civilization will face extinction without their support. That is why, they should be given the best of the PPE as they need it the most.
