Fruits are the gifts of nature and Bangladesh is the motherland of fruits. Fruits are the source of fresh energy and vitality. Fruits are liked by all. Indeed, many kinds of popular and delicious fruits grow in this country. 

Fruits are of different kinds in colors and sizes. These are big and small. Some taste sweet and some taste sour. Some are solid and some are juicy. 

The mango is the sweetest of all. It is called the king of all fruits. It is the fruit of the summer season. There are various types of mangoes. They are Langra, Fazli, Gopalbhog, Mohanbhog etc. They are sweet to taste. In the district of Rajshahi, Dinajpur and Bogra the best mangoes are grown. 

The jackfruit is another popular fruit of Bangladesh. It is also summer fruit. It is sweet to taste but hard to digest. It grows in hilly areas of Chattogram and Sylhet and in the high land of Dhaka, Narshingdi, Mymensingh and Cumilla. It is our national fruit. It is a nice, delicious and nutritious fruit of Bangladesh. It is of different kinds. 

The Sabri, the Amritasagar, the Champa are nutritious. It grows all over the country almost throughout the year. The orange is a delicious fruit. The best oranges are grown in Sylhet. It is good for health. The pineapple is full of wonderful sweet juice. It grows in plenty in Sylhet and Chattogram Hill Tracts. It is known as the queen of fruits. 

The lichi is also a good fruit. It grows almost everywhere in Bangladesh but plenty in Rajshahi. It is very sweet and very dear to the children. The other important fruits of this land are guava, the palm, coconut, blackberries, plums, lemons, wood apples, dates and melons etc. They grow all over the country. In Bangladesh, many families grow various types of fruits. They sell them in the market and earn their livelihood. Moreover, Bangladesh earns much money by exporting some fruits to the foreign countries. Besides Syrup, jam and jelly are made from fruits. Almost all the fruits of Bangladesh are very rich in food value. They contain vitamins and mineral salts. Most of them prevent diseases and give energy. Bangladesh is lucky that each season has its own special fruits. The fruits are rich in food value. So, we should try to grow more and more fruits to solve our food problem and improve our financial condition.
